Diet and Nutrition

You’ll never be hungry at Wellspring Adventure Camp because, in addition to fantastic entrees that taste and look like the foods you’re used to eating, you always have unlimited access to a variety of fat-free foods such as fat-free yogurts of different flavors, tasty fruits, vegetables, homemade soups, fat-free tuna salad and egg salad, fat-free cottage cheese, and more.

Wellspring’s diet management program is unique, but after you experience it, you’ll ask: “Why doesn’t everyone do it this way?” Instead of restricting all foods and leaving campers hungry – an approach that is not sustainable after campers return home – Wellspring’s uncontrolled foods are available at every meal:

Here are examples of menus served at Wellspring Adventure Camp last summer:

Breakfast

  • Bagels, Smoked Atlantic Salmon, Fat-Free Cream Cheese, Capers, Onions, Fresh Fruit and several varieties of Fat-Free Yogurt
  • Apple Flapjacks, Fresh Fruit and several varieties of Fat-Free Yogurt
  • Scrambled Eggs with Veggie Sausage and Cheese Pitas

Lunch

  • Black Bean Burritos with Steamed Rice, Hot Salsa, Fat-Free Cheese, Onions and Mushrooms
  • Low-Fat Buffalo Hot Dogs, Dough-Boy Style (over fire) with Fixings

Dinner

  • Linguini with Marinara Sauce and Veggie Sausage
  • Marinated Chicken with Roast Potatoes, Beet Greens and Curried Corn
  • Fat-Free Mac & Cheese Cook-Off with Steamed Broccoli and Apple Bread
  • Veggie Chili with Cornbread
